Tonight I sang karaoke for the first time in my life. It was amazing! I sang with the most wonderful girl and she smiled the whole time and I love her. God I love to see her smile! And when we were done, people cheered for us. You need to understand that I would have NEVER done this before… never.

I went dancing for the first time last night, in a legendary blue sport coat and plaid pants. My feet hurt, but my spirit is still carrying the beat. I danced with stangers and friends and danced hard. Who would have thought? This isn’t me. This is someone else, somone new and I like him better.

I forgot that there’s no school tomorrow because I want to go teach art to children. I want to hug them and show them that I care. I found out how much it means to me that grace is in the darkest places and suddenly I care about people that I don’t even know, people that I used to hate. This love is in the ones I love the most.

Tonight I found God in the bar, on my knees, in the dark walking home with my best friend, behind the mike, without shame or fear. I am not who I was because of this Jesus and that is beautiful. I am seeing Him in you, in your pain and in your smiles. I will sing with you and dance with you and love you freely because I AM FREE.
