Snow is my prophet and my shield. A list of futures hangs around me for most of the day. They don’t do very much, just sit there and stare as if to say, “ What are you waiting for,” and in my soul I confess to the darkest of these my desires. Papery and worn, the mask of my smiles may be warm to the eye, but cold to the touch. Can you see the proverb spelled out in the mist of my breath?
I remember when you told me that you liked roses the best. You said it so sheepishly, like love was a secret. I still can’t tell if you’re ashamed. I am not so ashamed as unworthy, and try to spin the sun and earth at opposing orbits and drop the moon like a china plate. Mornings break my heart. Sunsets and springtime fall on me, never their distance, never their faces, fall backward, a mistake.
The rain falls in the dark, invisible, its soft whisper on the snow. “Forget, forget,” it murmurs. And I do.
Over The Hills And Far Away

Hey Lady–you’ve got the love I need
Maybe, more than enough.
Darling Darling Darling, walk a while with me;
you’ve got so much…
Many times I’ve loved – Many times been bitten;
Many times I’ve gazed along the open road.
Many times I’ve lied – Many times I’ve listened;
Many times I’ve wondered how much there is to know.
Many dreams come true and some have silver linings
I live for my dream and a pocketful of gold.
Mellow is the man who knows what he’s been missing
Many many men can’t see the open road.
Many is a word that only leaves you guessing-
Guessing ’bout a thing you really ought to know.

Praise the LORD, O my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits-
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
